AP / Honors Classes Information

GUSD ADVANCED PLACEMENT DATES-DEADLINES AND FEES - 2022-2023

Following is  a list of IMPORTANT Dates, Deadlines and Fees associated with AP Exams for GUSD for the 2023 exam administration.

AUGUST 26, 2022 - DEADLINE - Students must create a college board account and “Join” each section of the AP course in which they are enrolled. Join codes will be distributed to each student by the AP Teacher.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2022 - DEADLINE - Last day to submit the “OPT-OUT” form to AP Coordinator. Failure to submit completed forms will result in an AP exam being ordered for each course in which a student is enrolled.

SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 - DEADLINE - Non-Refundable Exam Deposit is Due for each exam. In order to receive the reduced rate deposit, students' names MUST be on the district provided list by September 16, 2022. 

October 3 - November 4, 2022 - Any Exam changes approved by AP Coordinator/Administration will incur a $25.00 fee for each change.

November 7 -March 1, 2023 - Any Exam changes approved by AP Coordinator/Administration  will incur a $50.00 fee for each change (each exam)  IN ADDITION to any fees charged by the College Board.

MARCH 1, 2023 - DEADLINE - LAST DAY TO MAKE ANY EXAM CHANGES. All changes MUST be approved by the AP Coordinator.

EXAM FEES - 2022-2023: 

Regular Exam Price - $97.00 each 

Reduced Rate Price - $45.00 each (Student must meet the eligibility requirements AND be on the district list

 by Dec. 31, 2022)

Late Order/Cancelation fee - $50.00 (for each exam) 

Returned Test Fee/No show Fee - $50.00  (for each exam)

Non-GUSD Student Exam Price - $150.00 each Prior to 11/13/22

Non-GUSD Student Exam Price - $175.00 each from 11/12/22-3/1/23 plus $50 late test fee

 

PAYMENT DATES - 2022-2023:

All Exam Deposits by SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 - 

$45.00 Reg price deposit per exam/$25.00 Reduced rate deposit per exam

Balance/Full Payment due by January 20, 2023

First Late Fee Assessed on the Unpaid Balance - February 1, 2023 (Fee = $25.00)

Second Late Fee Assessed on the Unpaid Balance - March 1, 2023 (Additional $25.00 Fee)

ASB Hours: M-F, 8:30-11 am & 1:30 - 4pm

NOTE: AP EXAM IS BEING ORDERED FOR EACH COURSE A STUDENT IS ENROLLED IN IF STUDENT HAS PAID DEPOSIT BY SEPT. 30 OR THEY HAVE OPTED OUT BY SEPT 9TH. FAILURE TO MEET THESE DEADLINES ABOVE WILL RESULT IN EXAM FEES ASSESSED TO STUDENT ACCOUNTS. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL FEES ASSOCIATED WITH AP EXAMS. 

**Any student needing assistance for AP Exam fees MUST see the AP Coordinator. Any questions or concerns should also be directed to the AP Coordinator.

 

CHS does not offer AP exams to non-GUSD students.  Gilroy High may accommodate a limited number of students that are outside our school district.

  • Smart-Watches with Internet access
  • Mechanical Pencils
  • Reference guides for typing or keyboard images

**All students enrolled in AP Courses are expected to take the AP exam.  In order to earn the extra grade point, students must take the AP Exam and earn a C- (70%) or higher in the course each semester.
