Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased presence of Gilroy Police officers on campus at Gilroy High School today, Wednesday, December 11, 2019, because of a threat made on SnapChat that was brought to their attention last night. 

After speaking to students about the message, officers have determined that there is no credible threat.  To be safe, there will be GPD officers on site today, particularly, after school, as the SnapChat message referenced a potential threat in that timeframe.  Gilroy Police Department does not feel the threat is real but is taking steps to ensure that staff and students are safe.

Please encourage your child to share with you or staff members anything that makes them feel uneasy or unsafe.  Students can also share concerns anonymously with school administration through the StopIT app.  Please don't hesitate to contact us should you have any concerns.
